Updates
What's new in NotchPixel
Every release, newest first, with the notes we post on the Microsoft Store. The Store installs updates on its own; to get one right away, open the Microsoft Store, go to Library and click Get updates.

0.5.88
In the Store nowRest the pointer on a notification to open the card on the Notifications tab; a click still opens what it points to. New setting: Captures on the shelf, to keep screenshots and recordings off the shelf. Album colours now reach right up to the top edge of the resting notch and the music card.
Fixed: brightness and volume percentages stay readable near full; stacked notifications keep even spacing; when OBS isn't connected, the tray's OBS item opens its setup.
-
0.5.87
The game strip's FPS, CPU, GPU, RAM, network speed and temperatures now update ten times a second.
Fixed: clicking a browser tab or title bar under the island no longer opens it; it opens when you point at it.
Fixed: in the Store version, the Night light tile now switches Night light through its own helper as intended.
-
0.5.86
Over fullscreen apps the island now stays as a slim strip by default instead of hiding, so it's always in reach: point at it to open it. To hide it there instead, turn on Hide in fullscreen apps and games in Settings.
Fixed: a crash when NotchPixel closed right after you switched Night light; the Night light tile no longer vanishes for a moment when you open Controls, and a quick tap on it always counts; the music card always follows a track change in Spotify.
-
0.5.85
From your bug reports and ideas. Notifications that arrive together stack on the closed island: flip through them with the mouse wheel. Choose how long a new notification stays. Click an app's icon in the Notifications tab to open that app. The game strip reads a steadier, more accurate FPS, keeps counting while you record, shows CPU, GPU and RAM the way Task Manager does, keeps FPS and network side by side, and has optional usage bars.
Fixed: the Night light tile switches Night light again and follows changes made in Windows; the island now appears in NotchPixel's own screenshots and recordings; the remove button on Shelf files is easier to hit; apps on the sensor ignore list no longer count as a call; the screen-sharing dot clears when a Discord call ends. The game strip also recognises Minecraft Java Edition.
-
0.5.84
Shaped by your messages. Notifications show the real app icon, Discord and other desktop apps too, open in place to read the whole message, and scroll smoothly with a scrollbar. Settings shows how to see an app's notifications only in the island. A new Pure black look for OLED screens, and a Glass blur slider for Glass and Candy glass. An optional song title in the closed island. The sensor dot names the app using the microphone, camera or screen, and can ignore background apps. Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock pop-ups.
Fixed: Codex now shows in the island, the FPS counter on non-English Windows, a flicker when the island sits below the top edge, a capture dot that stayed on, both volume pop-ups showing on newer Windows 11, and Glass across several monitors.

0.5.83
Desktop widgets on a Glass look now take their colours from a live wallpaper, such as one from Lively, instead of the still picture behind it. New in 0.5.82, shaped by your messages. Choose which apps the music card shows: every app, only your music player, or all but the ones you pick, so videos in the browser and games no longer take it over. A new Gaming option, Every fullscreen app, shows the stats strip over any fullscreen app again, browsers and videos too. Desktop widgets on a Glass look are now real glass over your wallpaper, and they show in screenshots. After a quick skip, the new song's cover now appears right away. Settings now explains that Glass and Candy glass stay out of screenshots and recordings, and that any other look shows the island in your videos.

0.5.81
A polish release shaped by your reviews. The music card gives the progress bar, the times and the lyrics button their own space, and the tiles and buttons inside the island now follow the Corners setting. A new slider sets the island's distance from the top of the screen. The clipboard can show as a two-column list, and Delete clears the notification under the pointer. Lyrics are found for more songs and stay in time after a pause. Network speed counts each byte once, Night light works on desktop monitors, and widgets dragged to the desktop work and follow your theme. Glass turns solid black over games. Stocks are added as chips, per-app rules are picked from the apps you have open, and you can connect your own coding agent. Settings got many layout fixes, especially in narrow windows and longer languages. Settings fields now have their own Save button, and per-app rules and stock symbols wait until you press it. The island now shows in screenshots and recordings unless you turn on Hide from screenshots and recordings (Glass looks always stay hidden). The game strip appears only over games, shelf previews have smooth edges, and crash and memory fixes make it steadier.

0.5.80
Glass, Candy glass and Acrylic work on Windows 11. On some Windows 11 PCs, switching to a see-through surface closed NotchPixel; that is fixed. Glass now uses almost no CPU while the screen behind it is still, so low-end laptops stay cool and quiet. When the island closes, it shrinks on the tab you were looking at instead of jumping to the music. On desktop PCs, where Windows does not report the CPU's own temperature, the widget no longer shows a motherboard sensor as the CPU.

0.5.79
Clocks follow your Windows time format, so 24-hour time shows everywhere, or pick 12-hour or 24-hour in Settings > Widgets. The weather has a new Minimal look, now the default, and shows a moon at night instead of a sun. The island opens smoothly, with no stutter the first time you hover it or open Widgets, and it reopens on the tab you were on, even after a restart. See-through surfaces (Glass, Candy glass and Acrylic) ask before you switch, and if NotchPixel ever closes while using one, it comes back on Black so Settings always opens. Over games, the game strip is solid black on a see-through surface and the glass stops reading the screen, so your game keeps its frames.

0.5.76 and 0.5.77
Five soft themes, Rosé, Lavender, Peach, Sakura and Candy glass, each with its own touch: a hearts progress bar, sparkles or falling petals. Appearance has its own page in Settings. Widgets: a picker with live previews and four new ones, World clock, To-do, Photos and Batteries, and you can drag any widget off the island to keep it on your desktop. Reminders: a new box to set one in seconds, Snooze or Done right in the island, a chime that stops when you answer, and repeats every day, on weekdays or every week. Agents: Antigravity joins Claude Code, Codex and Hermes, and you can add your own agents by name. The game strip can stay up in every window and wears your theme. A notice when an app listens while your mic is muted, with one click to unmute. Copied pictures from browsers and chat apps are kept as pictures. Closing the phone code asks first.

0.5.74 and 0.5.75
Every tab, redesigned. The music card has a new look, five progress bar styles and your album art as its background, with a live preview in Settings. Clipboard keeps pictures and copied files too, Copy text reads the words in a picture, chips sort it by kind, and snippets keep the texts you paste again and again. Agents shows at a glance who needs you, what is working and what is done, with a timeline of each session's steps. Calls has a big mic button that shows you are heard, your next meeting with a Join button, and a test for your mic and speaker. Widgets shows your week and your CPU and GPU temperatures where your PC reports them, and the weather works without setup. On desktop PCs, Controls sets your monitor's brightness and switches speakers and mics. Pinned sites show their own logos. Smoother and lighter on slower PCs.

0.5.73
Make the island open and close faster with Animation speed, Quick (Settings, Island). Show network speed in Mbps, like your internet plan (Settings, Widgets). Choose the music visualizer, the pixel bars or the earlier rounded bars. While you record your screen, a red stop button sits on every tab, and stopping opens your recordings. Settings takes a new surface or accent the moment you pick it. Fixes: Settings fits smaller laptop screens and stays readable when you make it narrow, the glass notch curves cleanly into the screen's edge, the pill is the right size when music starts while an AI agent is working, and drawers flow out of the island with no gap or outline.

A new look with fresh type and icons, and Liquid Glass: the island and its drawers bend and soften what is behind them, and Settings wears the same glass. Drawers now flow out of the island like liquid. AI agents: see what Claude Code, Codex or Hermes is doing, read a short summary, reply, stop it or start a new chat from the island. Screenshots, snips and recordings each open their own screen, with your past captures in a scrolling row or a grid, ready to copy or open. The web drawer runs extensions from the Chrome Web Store. The page on your phone shows what you copied on the PC, updating as you copy. Settings has search, plus Open size and Motion.
-
0.5.70
A reminder two days before your free trial ends, with a one-click way to buy. Also recent: smoother everywhere (the island moves in step with your screen and the music bars run at a steady 30 fps), Settings opens almost instantly, lyrics for music apps that stay in time after you skip, pause or change the speed, and fixes for several crashes.
-
0.5.67
Lyrics that follow the song, in a drawer of their own with the cover's colours (optional, from the free LRCLIB library). A hidden-until-hover mode, an adjustable open delay and a corner roundness setting. Shortcuts that open your launcher apps, even from a fullscreen game. Drop many files on the shelf at once. Clipboard: the copied line now stays marked. Typing in the site drawer works on the first click.
